Green Habitat Initiative (GHI)

Green Habitat Initiative (GHI) is a youth-led non-profit organization incorporated in Nigeria in 2016. GHI is dedicated to promoting climate resilience and environmental sustainability through innovative, community-centered, and technology-driven solutions.

Green Habitat Initiative (GHI) works to strengthen environmental sustainability and climate resilience across communities in Nigeria by delivering practical, community-focused solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6, 7, 11, and 13.

Our interventions address critical challenges in clean water and sanitation, access to affordable and clean energy, climate action, and the development of sustainable cities and communities. Through programs spanning climate-smart agriculture, water and sanitation (WASH), renewable energy solutions, climate innovation, and climate finance, GHI supports communities in adapting to climate risks while improving their livelihoods and environmental outcomes.

Founded to respond to growing environmental and climate challenges, Green Habitat Initiative has evolved from community-focused interventions into a multi-sector organization delivering integrated solutions in water, energy, agriculture, and climate innovation. Over the years, GHI has expanded its partnerships, geographic reach, and technical capacity to deliver scalable and measurable impact.
